North Buncombe High School Blackhawk Band

Who we are
The NBHS Band was started in 1959. Under the able leadership of several directors, the NBHS Band slowly developed into one of Western North Carolina's most consistent programs. Much of NBHS band's success is tied to the expectations and traditions set in place by the former band director, Wallace Brown. After 31 years of teaching at NBHS, Mr. Brown retired in June of 2003. In the fall of 2003, Mr. D. Sanford Boone was hired as the NBHS band director.

Art in Autumn - Volunteers Needed
We need volunteers to work 3 - 4 hour shifts in Weaverville for Art in Autumn on Saturday, September 18th to sell ice cream and snow cones, from 8 AM - 6 PM.

Please contact Steve Region (243-2944) to sign up for a shift:

8 AM - 11 AM

11 AM - 2 PM

2 PM - 6 PM

BBQ Tickets - Urgent!
BBQ tickets NEED to be returned no later than Tuesday. Food for the event is going to be ordered on Wednesday and we need to know exactly how much to order. Your attention to this matter will be highly appreciated.

Please remember we are requesting that each student donate a dessert that can be served with the meals. Desserts can be dropped off at the Weaverville United Methodist Church anytime Saturday after 10:00 AM.

Flea Market Update/Schedule

	Setup: 2:00-9:00 PM We need help with setup and pricing
Saturday Sept 11th
	Flea Market: 7:30 AM - 12:00 NOON Wear band shirt or red shirt Shifts from: 7:00 - 10:00 AM & 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

All-night cookers - 4 people, Times TBA
Pork pullers - 5 people, starting @ 11:00 AM
Kitchen prep - 4 people, starting @ 10:30 AM
Kitchen duty - 4 people, starting @ 4:00 PM
Dessert line - 3 people, starting @ 3:00 PM
Serving line - 4 people, starting @ 4:30 PM
Take-out runners - 3 people, starting @ 4:30 PM
Kitchen to-go orders - 2 people, starting @ 4:30 PM
Bread Prep & Grill - 2 people, starting @ 3:30 PM
Dish washers - 2 people, starting @10:30 AM - until done (in 3 hour shifts)
Money Box/Ticket Sales - 2 people starting @ 4:30 PM
